Transmission Fluid is not the same as motor oil. Both lubricants serve different parts of the motor. There are two main types of transmission fluid: Automatic and Manual transmissions. Most modern manual transmissions are compatible with automatic transmission fluid. It is recommended that you change transmission fluid at around 80,000KMs(50,000 Miles).
